Lifetime Costs
The power produced by a ZoneGen is essentially free once the unit has been purchased and installed. Minimum maintenance is required and the parts are specified for extremely long lifecycles. The bearings for example are the main moving/wear parts and these have an estimated lifecycle of many years as calculated by recognised industry practice.
It would require an extremely large and expensive solar panel or wind turbine to fully power a significant manned gas production platform, even in climates where there is an abundance of sunlight or a dependable wind. However a moderate sized ZoneGen (say 1m x 1m x 5m) could produce a 1-megawatt dependable power supply continuously for extremely low operating cost. Being modest in size and when no longer needed at a particular site, it can be easily moved intact to a new location.
